THIS TECHNOLOGICAL MEMOIR

Where I sleep, drink, and run a few miles.

I know this tumblr has been rather vacant as of late, and I apologize for that. But ever since the semester ended, I’ve been managing two jobs on top of a flourishing (and wonderful) relationship, as well as the need of friends and family to see my face. With that being said, this is the most fantastic summer (so far) I’ve had in years, and I am dying to share it with you all.
Over the past few weeks, it’s been go go go. Wake up at 5 a.m., work from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., head home, go for a run, say goodbye to my man in passing, work from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., head home, eat, sleep, rinse and repeat. This is the average Monday through Friday routine for me, but when the weekend hits, there’s nothing holding me back.
I’ve reconnected with my best girlfriends, been spending an insane amount of much needed quality time with my boyfriend, and making friends and acquaintances everywhere I go.
This past weekend, we were the typical U.S. citizens and went camping for memorial day weekend, just me, the boyfriend, my best friend, her boyfriend, and her family and family friends. On this trip I was able to acquire a kayak for a few hours and I can honestly say it is all I have been talking about since. Something about the way you glide and float, almost effortlessly, it’s breathtaking to watch and even more spectacular to experience. I felt as if I was flying across the surface, daring any goose or duck to cross my path. It was incredible, and while it does leave your arms a bit sore afterwards, it is definitely an activity I would recommend to anyone, regardless of athletic ability.
I have so much more that I would love to share, but honestly, even though it seems so miniscule, kayaking has probably been one of the greatest experiences I’ve had so far this summer. I promise I’ll share more of my summer-so-far soon (no promises on tomorrow!), but I have to get some sleep, or I won’t be able to function well enough to experience anything more.

This gets me every time.

This gets me every time.

You think religions are constant things? inflexible and solid and form full-grown? Religions evolve. They grow out of a need, just like any other natural phenomenon, and they follow the same natural laws. They are born, grow, have sons, and illegitimate sons, and die.

Finals are over, a glass of this is in front of me, and my summer has officially begun.

Five papers in four hours.

And they said it wasn’t possible.
